Nancy Carlson’s Harriet and Walt – Stages Theatre in Hopkins!

From award-winning local author Nancy Carlson comes this heartwarming story of older and younger siblings. It's the first big snow of the winter, and Harriet can't wait to enjoy it. But her mother insists that Harriet take along her little brother, Walt. Of course, there is a lesson to be learned. Kids everywhere will recognize themselves in this sparkling new musical.

We will learn about the declining rainforests and the vast number of products that come from the rainforest including modern medicine!

  Columbia Recreation Area - Minneapolis
Kick-off spring break with a fun-filled day of Sledding and Tubing as we head to the Columbia Recreation Area! We’ll warm up at the clubhouse with a cozy lunch and afternoon of activities! (Weather permitting)

Monday, March 12, 2007
  Construction!
Fun continues in the snow, as we build a fort! Inside, we’ll construct a toy town with log cabins, castles, pyramids and more! We’ll learn about early dwellings and explore extreme home ideas. Kids will play games associated with famous structures such as the Flatiron building, the Washington Monument, and the National Gallery of Art. How would you build your ideal “toy” home?

Tuesday, March 13, 2007
  Bridges and Swimming?
There are more than half a million bridges in the US and we’ll explore how they work, as we look at Truss designs to construct our own bridges. We’ll bridge the gap to the swimming pool at Fairview for fun water play!

Wednesday, March 14, 2007
Way Cool Cooking School - Eden Prairie
Now we’re cooking, as we go to the Way Cool Cooking School in Eden Prairie to create Shamrock pretzels, limeade, green bread sandwiches and more, as we make our lunch and spend an afternoon of cooking up some green treats!

Thursday, March 15, 2007

Art & Invention at Leonardo’s Basement in Minneapolis
Kids will work in two different classes, one art and one invention. In the art class younger students will make prints using a variety of materials and older students will complete more sophisticated printing projects. Both age groups will design and build inventions. They can be purposeful or fantastical. You decide…let your creativity explode!

Friday, March 16, 2007
  Celebrate Green!
Start the day off right with swimming at the Fairview pool and then we'll explore and create green foods, shamrock fun, beading and art activities. Reduce, reuse and recycle…we’ll do all of those things as we create a tunnel of fun out of recyclable items.

Monday, April 9, 2007
Recreation Destination – Maple Grove Community Center! Warm weather will be upon us, as we head to the Maple Grove Community Center to play indoors at the Maple Maze and enjoy swimming and sliding at the Grove Cove Water Park!
