School Age

Kindergarten - 12 years

As your child progresses through their primary school education, JJ’s Jam will be there along the way. Before and after school care, school release days, and summer camp all give your child a valuable opportunity to expand their education in a fun, safe, and social environment.

We emphasize safety, enrichment, and physical activity to support a busy school day. Our staff is dedicated, experienced, and trained to nurture and educate your child. JJ’s Jam is a licensed and inspected facility from the MN Department of Human Services and we provide care with the highest national standards.

JJ’s Jam is all inclusive: transportation to and from the center to schools, breakfast, afternoon snack, homework help, field trip fees, lunch, and more.

School Age Goals

  • Provide enrichment for students outside of regular school hours

  • Focus on socialization and building friendships with peers

  • Additional learning through games and educational field trips

Your camper’s day

Your child’s daily camp activities vary depending on their age group:

General Schedule

Every day of summer camp is filled with exciting events to keep campers busy and having fun. On field trip days, children arrive in the morning for breakfast before heading off to their destination. Camps average three exciting field trips each week, typically lasting until the afternoon. On-site days are filled with visits to parks and splash pads, fun daily themes, weekly interest clubs, art activities, games, STEM activities and more!

Meals & Snacks

For your convenience, a variety of hot and cold breakfasts, lunches, and two snacks per day are included in tuition. An example of a bag lunch is a carved turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, fresh fruit, vegetable, carton milk, and more. Our kid-friendly chefs prepare delicious meals in our on-site commercial kitchens daily.

Age Groups

Campers are organized by age group to ensure activities and trips are age appropriate for those that attend.

Children Entering Kindergarten

Children will get to spend time traveling by bus, learning the buddy system and field trip safety skills. Trips to zero depth water parks/splash pads let them spend time outside enjoying the summer. Indoor activities that encourage creativity and socialization include hands-on crafts and activities as well as learning classic board games.

Children Entering 1st & 2nd Grade

Campers make new friends as we travel to destinations and play while building confidence and having fun. Swimming and playing sports give children an outlet for their energy while getting outside. Campers also spend time doing arts and crafts, including drawing, painting, and sketching. Age appropriate games and weekly service projects balance activities for the week.

Children Entering 3rd Grade – Age 12
