Taking Care of the Caretakers

Knowing that teachers with the proper training and continuing support have the most significant influence on the learning environment, we want to make sure our teachers are taken care of. We attribute our extraordinarily high teacher retention rate to being attentive to the happiness of our staff, making sure they feel appreciated, listened to, and are given room to grow. Jack & Jill teachers exceed national standards when it comes to education level and compensation. Staff members receive paid continuing education, benefits packages, paid time off, staff retention bonuses, and many other fringe benefits. Doing everything we can to attract the best staff creates a fantastic program where our teachers, families, and children want to be.

  • Assessing Progression

Assessment methods used by our teachers measure all aspects of early childhood development. Cognitive skills such as language, social/emotional, and physical, are measured, as well as subject-specific areas of early reading, math, and science. Regular interactions with your child allow each teacher to develop a baseline of performance and be better equipped to make sound decisions about ways to adapt and improve instruction based on a child’s needs.

Additionally, a consistent schedule of communication and assessment enables staff to recognize developmental or learning disabilities, as well as the impact of any atypical situations at home that may have previously gone unnoticed.

  • Health & Safety

The safety of children and staff is integral to a program’s success. Jack & Jill promises to maintain a clean and safe environment for all who are a part of it. Each member of our staff is trained in CPR and pediatric first aid. Our facilities are accessible only via single-entry keypad, with daily sign-in and strict parent/guardian identification procedures, as well as cameras monitoring access.

  • Sanitation

Staff members are trained in proper sanitary procedures for toys, cribs, mattresses, sheets, blankets, and equipment. Additionally, a public health nurse visits the center on a monthly basis to ensure the highest standards of sanitation are met.

To minimize the chances of illnesses spreading, our curriculum teaches proper hand washing and sanitation practices with all children.

  • Medical & Emergency Preparedness

Both locations are peanut/tree nut restricted, and our staff works closely with families and their doctors to accommodate allergy and asthma care plans.

Emergency evacuation, fire, and tornado procedures are practiced on a monthly basis in our facilities. Parental notification protocols are in place should any emergencies arise while your child is under our care.
